Overview
Standard Bank, as Africa's largest financial services provider, is focussed on becoming more than just a bank. They have initiated a drive to not only be the most trusted bank thoughout Africa, but also be the go to financial services provider and partner, when it comes to agricultural development and growth.
Scope
Standard Bank is looking to expand their focus and efforts in the agri sector, on a digital scale. Realising innovation as the core to scalability, a Design Centre of Excellence (DCOE) was spun up, of which I was appointed as the orchestrator of.
Before any projects could be initiated, the human centered design methodology and ways of working(WOW) had to be realised, and implemented as a foundation to innovation. The orchestration of a designated innovation and design team was my first assignment. After the succesfull acceptance and embedding of a "Human Centerd Design" practice was accomplished, I was diercted to start Service Design work on Standard Bank's biggest innitiative; digitise Africa's agricultural sector.

Setting up the Design Centre of Excellence(DCOE)
The biggest challenge from a Service Design perspective was that the bank had no idea what Service Design entailed, never mind the importance or ROI thereof.
That being said, it was of utmost importance that I first initiate and culivate a Human Centered Design awareness and understanding through spinning up a Design Centre of Excellence(DCOE). The DCOE would function as the core to innovation in, and throughout the bank. Utilising human centered design methodologies and processes, this team's core responisibility would be to address new innitiatives from the bank, and through due process and diligence, provide implementable and scalable solutions. Theb DCOE division was titled HIVE and now plays a pivotal role in internal and external innovation and innitiative rollouts.

OneFarm Share and HelloChoice is a digital platform that multiplies food donations and streamlines procurement directly from farmers and food producers to registered charity organisations.
OneFarm Share facilitates the smooth delivery of the right produce, to the right place, at the lowest possible cost through an online marketplace collaborating with audited and established food distribution partners.

As Service Design lead on this project, I was responsible for orchestrating the technical and delivery teams in aligning on, and working towards a unified human cenetered design approach and project rollout. Stakeholder interviews, in depth user acceptance testing and reiterative eco-system and service blueprint development forming the foundation of my deliverables.
